Extraordinary photos of Switchgrass roots illustrate the plant’s opulence

It isn’t really news that Switchgrass (Panicum virgatum) has seen increasing use as a fuel source, as a stabilizer against erosion, as a “cleaner” of excess nitrogen and phosphorus in soil, and as a contributor to wildlife habitat.
