Eagle Scout project: Floating island habitat for Maryland ponds

MarylandPublicTV — June 16, 2010 — Chris Leung, an Eagle Scout candidate, created four “artificial islands” to soak up toxins, fertilizers, and runoff to keep the lake water at the Brookside Nature Center clean. The “island” holds native plants. These islands were placed at the Wheaton Regional Park as well. A segment from the 2010 Chesapeake Bay Volunteer-thon at MPT.
