Center for Biological Diversity sues over grazing threat of 290 head of cattle

Just a few hundred bovine is a sufficient number to effect a threat on dwindling populations of endangered species in the Mazatzal Mountain region of Arizona according to Jay Lininger, an ecologist with the Center for Biological Diversity, who states, “Public agencies must protect natural treasures from excessive grazing, not sacrifice them to private interests.” The organization is suing the U.S. Forest Service and the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service to prevent rangeland degradation.
