A 2000 study by the New York State Attorney General’s Office indicated that nearly 65 percent of this state’s schools were using pesticides outdoors. A bill now up for debate, along with a package of other environmentally related issues, seeks to ban pesticides, herbicides, and fungicides on school playing fields.
