Warm-season grasses prove superior biomass

The latest edition of Agronomy Journal verifies that some native prairie species (such as Switchgrass [Panicum virgatum] seen in this USDA Agricultural Research Service photo) average more benefits than short-rotation crops when it comes to overall cost/benefit of carbon sequestration, sediment runoff, and biomass feedstock for cellulosic ethanol.
