Activated carbon as soil conditioner — new tool for restoring native vegetation

Rob Goldstein provides an enlightening synopsis of a study performed by Andrew Kulmatiski which shows that the addition of activated carbon to herbicide-treated field plots improves revegetation with native species inheriting site conditions from non-natives by affecting both soil bacteria and the allelochemicals sometimes emitted by non-natives.
