$1 million to undo 120 years of Cordgrass invasion

A $1 million grant from the U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service’s Invasive Species Control program has been awarded to the Humboldt Bay National Wildlife Refuge to make repeat cuts of a non-native Cordgrass (Spartina densiflora) which probably got its first foothold in northwestern California waterways when it arrived in the ballast of ships from Chile.
