Convention center with 400,000 native plants on roof earns LEED status

Canada’s Vancouver Convention Centre West has been awarded platinum status for its Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) fulfillment. Plant species selected for the roofscape integrate with the waterfront ecosystem (Vancouver sits on the Strait of Georgia, an inlet of the Pacific Ocean), manage rainwater, and insulate the building.
