18 scenarios examine impact on vegetation systems under climate change

In 13 out of 18 projections, capacity for species richness (CSR) is expected to decline nearly 5% on average by 2100 according to German biologists who used the UN’s computer models for temperature rise. Most affected are those areas experiencing water stress: the Amazonian rainforest and deserts, savannahs, and other tropical forests where humidity sets the fulcrum for survivability.
