Since 1800, England has lost 500 species to extinction

In just 200-some years, Great Britain has seen 12 percent of its land mammals, 22 percent of its amphibians, and 24 percent of its butterflies go extinct, according to a study by Natural England, which indicates another 943 species are at “precariously low levels.” Read more here.
