Tick-borne disease study identifies new bacterium threat

The Missouri Ozarks is the stage where a new story in animal-to-human disease is being played out. The March 2010 edition of Emerging Infectious Diseases describes three bacterium now being transferred to humans by ticks. The increase in infection is being partially attributed to land management practices that allow high white-tail deer populations. Read lots more here.
