Purple Coneflower tells its own history

Using a combination of DNA and root metabolite analysis, researchers from Iowa State University are studying Echinacea to learn of its genetic diversity, historic range, and possible chemical benefits as relates to human ailments. Previously, Echinacea spp. were organized by plant morphology. Read more here.
